Licenses

ILLIXR is licensed under the MIT License. This means that you are free to use, modify, and distribute the software as long as you include the original license and copyright notice in any copy of the software or substantial portion of the software.

Third Party Licenses

ILLIXR uses many third-party libraries and codes, each with their own licenses. In order to be included in the core ILLIXR repository, each of these licenses must be compatible with the main ILLIXR license. Most open source licenses are compatible, however copy-left licenses such as the GNU General Public License(GPL) are not compatible. The Lesser General Public License (LGPL), however, is compatible with the MIT license. Other acceptable licenses include, but are not limited to:
